Church attenders across 20 denominations were asked in the National Church Life Survey from 2001 to 2021 about their views on whether people from the gay community should be accepted as members in the church on the same basis as heterosexuals.
A majority of attenders would consider acceptance of church members from the gay community (from 67% in 2001 to 78% in 2021).
